Privacy Policy

Effective March 8, 2026

SleepBar collects as little data as possible. Analytics are anonymous, and we never sell or share your information with third parties.

Anonymous Analytics

SleepBar collects anonymous usage data to help us understand how the app is used and where to focus improvements. This data is sent via Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) infrastructure and includes:

This data is not linked to your identity, Apple ID, name, email, or any other personal information. It is stored in Apple's CloudKit public database.

Opting Out

Analytics are enabled by default. You can disable them at any time from the About window in SleepBar. When disabled, no data is sent — the preference is stored locally on your Mac and respected immediately.

Licensing & Payments

License purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. When you purchase a license, Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email address, and payment details. SleepBar never sees or stores your payment information (credit card, billing address, etc.).

When you activate a license, your license key and a machine identifier are sent to Lemon Squeezy's API to verify the license. Lemon Squeezy returns your name and email address as part of the license metadata, which SleepBar stores locally on your Mac to display your license status. This information is never sent anywhere else.

As the developer, we can see your name, email, and purchase details through the Lemon Squeezy merchant dashboard. This data is managed by Lemon Squeezy and subject to their privacy policy.

Software Updates

SleepBar uses the Sparkle framework to check for updates. When checking, your device contacts our server to download the appcast feed. Sparkle may send basic system information (macOS version, app version) as part of the request. No personal data is included.

Data We Don't Collect

Third Parties

SleepBar does not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics platforms. The only third parties involved are:

Children's Privacy

SleepBar does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The anonymous analytics described above contain no personal information regardless of the user's age.
